I am feeling a little uneasy about my plans to do Voyages and Exercises in English for Grade 7 dd. I was wondering about Easy Grammar Plus - any views? Or any other recommendations?

I recommended it, and I like it  . It is simple, easy, and straight-forward.
It is very "minimalist" in appearance - and it is definitely a workbook. But it is a quick, simple, easy way to "get the job done" IMHO.
You can go to the website, and look at samples. Really - what you see is what you get.
I used it with my oldest, and I am saving it to use with the next two.
I know some of the Teacher Supply Stores around where I lived in AZ carried them, maybe you could see if one by you does so you could take a look at it IRL? But honestly, it is exactly like you see in the samples.
Oh, and it is a HUGE book (The teacher's manual.)

We aren't to Plus yet but I have 2nd grade and 4th grade.. the teacher's manual has all the student pages in it.. and the copyright allows for copying those as many times for your own family as you need. I bought the student workbook because I don't have my own copier and figured that the cost would be about the same buying it as paying for copies.. and buying it is a whole lot easier

I have used Easy Grammar 6th gr.We will also use the Plus book in 7th.The 7th grade will mostly focus on writing,so this workbook will be a good supplement to LA.

I have wanted to chime in here that we have had great success this year using the Serendipity plans for the Ruth Heller books (don't have time for links, sorry) and drilling with corresponding pages from Easy Grammar. It is a good balance of a living approach (which I prefer) and a workbook approach (which ds prefers).

Oh, Yes! My kids love the Ruth Heller books, too, and I like that they supplement each other!

We've LOVED Winston Grammar here, and now I'm planning to use it with our very right brained (very visual) learner this year too! And I think I may use the Advanced for my high schooler too.
I just found this lesson plan at crayola.com for color coded diagramming using Ruth Heller's books. I couldn't find the Serendipity plans that were referred to in this thread, but did find this: Color-Coded Diagramming Lesson Plan

Tracy--Thank you so much for those plans. Here are those Serendipity plans. More of the Heller books will be added this year. I think with the lessons there, the help of Easy Grammar Plus and those diagramming lessons that is a nicely rounded grammar program.

Thank you, Colleen. Those are neat, I wish I'd had them when the kids were younger. We're in 8th and 11th this year, and I'm going to do some more heavy grammar for SAT prep, etc. this year. But I like to study lesson plans and curriculum to help other homeschoolers, and this will be a GREAT suggestion to use for that too!

Okay, Easy Grammar question...I have a 10yo is mostly a grammar whiz...he breezed through sections of E/G 3-4 this year and a few lessons from EG + that I had on hand from a friend. I was going to order 5/6 for this year but am wondering if I should just move on to + for him and spread it out over a few years. Any thoughts?

I love Easy Grammar. I don't use anything else now, because this makes sense to me and we've had great success with it. We use Easy Grammar Plus as the final grammar focus in 8th or 9th grade, depending on the child. That makes it easy to use Easy Grammar 5 and 6 alongside Lingua Mater (Margot recommends focused grammar in addition to this program) in the junior high years. Before that, we don't do focused grammar beyond what is included in Intermediate Language Lessons.
Two thumbs up for a subject that I confess I think is better mastered with a workbook method (eek, can I say that on a CM board???  )
