We have God's Wisdom for Little Girls: Virtues and Fun from Proverbs 31 which my daughter (8) has enjoyed.

Also, for a Catholic resource, there are the Little Flowers programs which teach virtues.

CHC's Devotional Stories for Little Folks is excellent (IMHO) for teaching virtues to either a boy or a girl.

The book follows a family of two boys and two girls and their neighbors. It's divided into 25 or so story "chapters". My kids love the stories, and they even come with vocabulary words, questions at the end, Bible and Catechism quotes... you can cover a lot of age ranges with these.

I bought my copy not knowing exactly what to expect, and I am very pleased.

I'm rushing and don't have time to link, Marilyn, but we are really, really enjoying Fr. Lasance's A Catholic Girl's Guide. It is the book that the Little Flowers program was based on. He has separate chapters devoted to cultivating each individual virtue. You can get it through the Fraternity of St. Peter's website.

Third recommendation here. But it depends upon the age you're looking for. This book is probably more geared toward your 11 yo.

OK Jen and Ruth - I finally differ from you both! I saw the Catholic Girl's Guide at the the IHM today - and I was not over impressed. It may have been partly I was over tired and not feeling great - but I found it very difficult to read, with too small print. I am sure this is a very snap judgement after looking at it for 10 minutes - but I did decide to postpone buying it.

I tried to find Beautiful Girlhood to look at - but none of the vendors carried it.

Just my tuppence worth..
