Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am having a major craving for fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and basil. Does anyone know for sure whether fresh mozzarella is a no-no in pregnancy? I know brie and other soft-ripened cheeses are a concern. But ... please? Maybe? Just a little? This says pasteurized cheese is okay and regular is mozzarella, too but what about fresh mozzarella if it says it's made from pasteurized milk? Is that a soft cheese like feat (which is a no-no) or a safe cheese?

Oh, look! I found it. Pasteurized milk and I'm good. I'm going to the store now.

Good! I'll tuck this little tid-bit away for the future. I hope you enjoy every bite of it, Elizabeth!

that's the reason cream cheese is ok.. it's made from pastuerized milk..

I think there's even some brie's that are made with pasteurized milk.

Have you ever made a panini with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes and fresh basil leaves? A little olive oil brushed on the bread add the fresh ingredients, and then a quick sear with a panini press, george foreman grill or a heavy pot/pan on a grill pan. It's so yummy...one of our favorite meals with a little homemade tomato soup or gazpacho.

I may have to go to the store too...
