Could I please ask for prayers again for my dad? He was scheduled for gallbladder surgery on Monday here in AZ (and my mom is in WI and won't be back for 2 weeks), but his blood sugar is extremely high and they canceled the surgery.
He is a Type 2 diabetic, and is insulin-dependent -- but has a hard time controlling his sugars and the doctors don't know why (been this way for years now). But, since his doctors are all in WI, the new doctors here in AZ are being cautious (understandably so IMO, but not in my parents)
ANYWAY, could you please just pray for him? His name is Peter.
And, please pray for my special intention(s)? Life is just overwhelming right now (even excluding the health drama with my dad) and I realize that things need to be shaken up, but I don't seem to know which direction to head. thanks ;)
**UPDATE 6/4**
Please continue to pray for my father. I went over to his house this morning to take him to the hospital and found him unresponsive. His blood sugar had dropped to 41.
I was finally able to rouse him enough to drink some orange juice and was able to raise his blood sugar enough to no longer be dangerous. I had called 911, but canceled it when his blood sugars finally began to rise and at his insistence. His surgery was canceled, and I'm not sure when it will be rescheduled (but sometime in the next couple weeks.)
My mom is obviously in distress since she is 2000 miles away. I am working with my mom and his doctors regarding his care.
Please continue to keep him in your prayers. thank you.
*UPDATE 6/6* (here & below)
Thank you all for your prayers and helpful advice. My dad is scheduled to enter the hospital Sunday (whenever a bed comes available) and they will monitor him overnight and then perform surgery Monday at 1:30. It's expected that he will stay the night and be released on Tuesday.
He has been agreeable to sharing meals with my family and my sister is staying with him overnights until my mom returns to AZ on the 13th. He is only 58, but also very stubborn and used to having my mom care for him (they've been married 41 years this month.)
thank you again, and please keep him in your prayers Monday afternoon!
**UPDATE 6/9** here & below
Thank you again for your prayers! My dad was admitted last night so they could monitor his blood sugars and his surgery was performed today at 2:30.
It went well and the surgeon had no complications. He was recovering in his room by 6PM. For some reason, the doctor felt he could go home tonight after his post-op vitals are done at 10PM -- but since I had been there since 11 this morning, I had to come home at 9PM so I could nurse Lydia. I'm waiting for a phone call to see if they are actually going to discharge him at 10PM or if they'll let him stay overnight.
Thank you all for your continued prayers. It really meant a lot to me. My dad is a fallen away Catholic (40 years!), but I saw some softening. The surgery was performed at a Sisters of Mercy hospital and he told me that gave him some confidence, since his aunt was a Sister of Mercy.
I am praying for all your intentions!

Oh, and could you also pray that my mom's employer (the fed govt) allows you to work in AZ on a 30 day detail so she can stay long enough for my dad to recover enough to drive back to WI safely?
