Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm debating on where to start phonics "instruction" with my 4yo. I've seen SWR and have Cursive First and Britta's DVD, but haven't bought the whole thing. I stumbled upon All About Spelling and think it looks great. I know a lot of people on this board use SWR, but I don't know of anyone who has used AAS. I'm stuck in my decision as to what I should buy. Either one is an investment and I don't want to make the wrong choice...

Also, I'm big on Montessori and these just seem so foreign to that concept...

I just bought AAS and we really like it so far. I have not used SWR but have heard about it and I think AAS may be similar. I *have* tried to use The Writing Road to Reading along with Making a Spelling Notebook (or something like that, I sold it ) and AAS takes the best of those things and makes it semi-scripted and do-able in my opinion.
