Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I would like to know if anyone has used this for history?
Is this like a unit study?
Can it also be used for different age ranges?
I was thinking of using this for my soon to be 7th and 3 rd grader but I am worried that it might be too light and so I was thinking of using it for my dd in stb 1st grade. I hope that someone can respond with experience to this website.

No experience, however we are considering it also, but had some of the same concerns you mentioned.

Claudia -- I don't have any first hand experience but HSitW is what Winter Promise uses for their curriculum. So if HSitW is too "light", maybe WP is better for you? Just a thought.

Laura (Cactus Flower) has a yahoo groupCatholic WP group if you want to check it out.

HITW has beautiful timeline figures, and if you are interested in creating timlines as part of your history studies, these are extremely high quality products. They have another product for unit studies called Time Travelers. I just purchased my first one, so I don't have a review for you, but in my research I never found anything but high praise for these. If you check out the Well-Trained Mind forums and do a search, you should be able to read how others have used HITW curriculum.

I tried the Time Travelers, as it was just too much printing. Each page has to be opened in its own PDF window. It became very tedious, and a little overwhelming. It was more teacher prep intesive than I had wanted.

That said, my kids enjoyed it. It is very complete look at the time period, and very creative.
