Can anyone compare these two programs. I own the original PLL and have used it before. Recently I've been looking at the samples of FLL at Peace Hill Press, and it appeared to have built-in review which PLL is lacking. Other than that, are there any other differences. I'm tempted to buy it, but then again maybe my money would be better spent elsewhere.

I've used PLL this year and last with my middle dd (3rd and 4th grade years) and I just bought ILL for her 5th grade year.
I also just bought FLL for my first grader next year. In short, I love it. You're right about the built-in review and it's so gentle yet so meaty.
FLL and PLL together rock!

Cay,
Thank you for the thumbs up on FLL. Are you using the two programs in conjunction or using PLL after FLL1/2? If you use them together, could you tell me how you integrate them?

I don't have FLL2. I just discovered FLL1 this year at our local bookstore and was so impressed with it (after eleven years of hsing and using many, many programs  ) that I bought it on the spot. My youngest will be the first to use it in our home.
I love PLL though and will probably continue using it with her later but I haven't seen FLL2.
From what I see in FLL1, I will probably use it as the primary daily lesson and use PLL as a supplementary backup...for reinforcement. They're definitely gentle enough to use both.

Cay, FLL 1 and 2 are in the same book. If you have FLL 1, then you have FLL 2 as well. FLL covers grammar for both Grades 1 & 2.

I was assuming there was a second book, possibly for upper elementary grade levels.

You know, after I posted last night, I thought that I was probably nitpicking. FLL is for Grades 1&2, FLL3 is for Grade 3. Technically, FLL3 would be the second book but it is published as FLL3, so I didn't want to confuse anybody, in case they were looking for FLL 2 (which really doesn't exist.)
That is so confusing. I am going to stop now.
