I'm curious to know if anyone here is fortunate enough to be coming to Sydney for WYD in July?

Reading of your excitement about Pope Benedict being in the US, has re-kindled my growing excitment about WYD. We are having a few pilgrims stay with us. The children are very excited. We even has some Highway signs giving countdowns!

Oh yes Trisha, I'm curious too! It would be great if any familes or their older children were heading down under.

We are planning to head down (down, meaning from Queensland to New South Wales ) as long as my heart continues to improve, but we will be staying with some of Phil's family and looking forward to seeing Scott and Chemai and any other families we know - will you be there Trisha? Love to catch up!

My oldest son,Sam, will be going with a group from our church. Mostly homeschoolers. He is very excited to both meet the pope and travel to Australia!!

Is he just going to Sydney, or visiting other parts of the country?

We live 2 hours drive from Sydney, so we will only be attending the Mass.

Sam will be staying in Melbourne for a few days before travelling to Sydney. We are very grateful for the many Australians who are opening their homes for our pilgrims! When this was first discussed at our church I thought there would be no way for Sam to go because, well, we survive on the typical one-income homeschoolers budget. But, our wonderful, YOUNG, Polish priest wouldn't take no for an answer and thanks to the generosity of our Parish and many fundraisers (and a long hot summer of golf course maintenance!) Sam is all paid up and ready to go along with 16 other kids from our diosese (Buffalo, NY).
Isn't anyone else going??
