Dd6 has had warts for over a year now. She has several very large raised warts on her foot and several clumps of warts on her fingers. Unfortunately some friends have made comments and so she is aware and wants them gone.
I have tried lemon essence without success, although to be truthful I wasn't always consistent. And in desperation we tried a product from the chemist called 'freeze off' no success there either.
Has anyone had success with removing warts? and if so what remedies did you use?

in brief, Erin, we have had much success with grapefruit seed extract. I have a stubborn one on my hand and I put GSE on, straight up (I know they say not to do this, but it works!) and a bandaid, the top usually comes off in 24 hours. If applied consistantly, the whole thing, core and all, should come off in a week or so. I've never been consistant enough, I get the top off and forgetaboutit, only for it to return in another week or two...

Apple cider vinegar!  Same way, on a band aid. Within a few days my dd's long standing warts were gone, and have not come back. I think you are supposed to keep it up for a few days after they *look* completely gone. I've also heard that warts on the foot may be more stubborn. HTH

My dd had some that were persistent. We tried everything topical, natural and unnatural. 
She started taking Oregano Oil and Garlic Oil Perles. Within weeks the warts were gone. She continued taking them for months to make sure they were gone completely. Whenever she seems to be getting one she starts taking them again. Basically, warts are a virus and need to be killed internally.

I get them, dr's not sure why. I have even had some that don't look like warts, that they have removed (like on my upper arm?!?) and then biopsied, because they looked suspicious...and they have turned out to be warts  .
I have had some on my thumb, that I have asked my dr to freeze a few times, and (ouch) it didn't get 'em all the way...then I read about apple cider vinegar, and thought, "no way, too easy!" but gave it a try anyway. It WORKS. I was shocked. Mine are stubborn so I have to be consistent and keep at it every day until they are gone - but it is so much nicer to be able to use a safe, simple home remedy that works, instead of the painful freezing, the nasty chemicals, etc. Just have it be part of her bedtime routine, you know, wash face, brush teeth, apple cider bandaid, etc.

What is Oregano Oil? Can you recommend a type/brand?
I have taken garlic for a few years now, due to helping with blood circulation and having had a blood clot....but it hasn't helped my warts one bit  ...is it the combo of the two, do you think?

Apple cider vinegar DEFINITELY works
it worked for my husband
but I give you a caution:
when I used it for two of my kids........they both complained about it "burning"...one was as if in agony.......since she tends to be a bit dramatic, I just encouraged her to offer it up.
Finally after a few hours of listening to her antics........I took it off of her just to get her to stop.........only to find the poor thing had a true burn on her elbow.  I felt so bad. Since her brother had been complaining also.......though was a better "sport" about it........I thought I better look at his............only to find a burn there, too, though not as bad. It was like a severe sunburn......and within a few days the dead skin peeled off.
It has worked, without burning, for another child and my dh.......just want to say, if your child complains of burning......DO check it out. 
I THINK we got rid of my dd's with a goldenseal paste..........but I cannot remember for sure. I know I had something on my thumbs for years.......and it disappeared, never to return after I took some goldenseal orally for something else.
GSE and goldenseal are both touted to be antibacterial, antifungal and antiviral........we have been successful using both for all of these kind of things......keeping in mind, they need to be treated like antibiotics, and not taken for more than 10-14 days.........and I always save the goldenseal as my BIG GUN, anyway.......at least orally.
now.....off the boards and to the treadmill!

re: the burning.
Yes, I have very sensitive skin, and if the ACV gets elsewhere I get the burned, irritated skin too. What I do is to cut a very, very small piece of cottonball or q-tip, just enough to fit on the wart but no bigger, and wet that with the ACV. I then hold it in place with a bandaid.

Breastmilk works also - I got rid of a wart that way w/ a Band-Aid.

I had lots and lots of warts on my hands in high school. Finally, I took fingernail clippers to them. I would take the wart off layer by layer (that part didn't hurt)and then use the clippers to dig in and pull out the core. They've never come back. I'm not recommending this as a first course of action, or even a fifteenth course of action! ROFL! As a last resort, however, it worked for me way back when.

Another vote for apple cider vinegar. It's cheap and easy. I did not have the burning problem.

Thanks for the advice, when I told dd6 that the 4Real ladies recommended apple cider vinegar she was a little horrified that she would have to take it internally too. Very happy when I said just externally.
Now dd wants me to ask how long will it take? And I have another question, when I put it on this morning the bandaids on the fingers stayed on no worries but the bandaids on the foot keep coming off. Any ideas as to how to keep them on? and how important are the bandaids?

I only do it at night, so it might take longer for me? Some seem to go quicker than others. Sometimes they turn brown, or black .

I didn't use bandaids. I soaked mine twice a day (with a cottonball) for about 10 minutes each time. It took a little over a week to go away.

Here is a link for Oregano Oil. It isn't the brand we use, but I don't think there is a big difference.
This is the Garlic Oil we use. I think it works differently than regular garlic tablets, perhaps it is stronger. Anyway, dd takes both and it works.
I am so interested in the ACV, though. All of a sudden, I am hearing about it. It seems to be a cure-all.

The doctor told my BIL to take L-Lysine supplements. It works for some people, but not others. It did work for my BIL, but not my sis. It worked for my elder daughter, but not my son! :) It may be worth a shot, though! :)
I love the suggestion of apple cider vinegar - I'll have my son give that a go on his rather persistent one.

It's funny this thread is up - we are launching a full scale attack on a plantar wart that's on my daughter's foot. My son seems to have a little cluster of warts on his knee.
We're trying apple cidar vinegar for ds and the duct tape method for dd. The biggest problem we are having is that the duct tape will not stay on dd's foot. I also found this, I plan to look for supplies this afternoon.
I don't remember ever having a wart as a child - do you think they are more common today? As family we travel more than I ever did as a child - I wonder if that has something to do with it. I am an absolute tryant when it comes to insisting that the children wear flip flops in campground showers. But dd went on choir trip where they stayed a hotel for a week - shared with four other girls - she hadn't had warts before that trip. I didn't think to tell her to wear flip flops in the hotel shower .
