Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

And on the heels of the chicken question... do any of you keep rabbits? My dh and dd have made an agreement that if he gets meat rabbits, she can raise a few show/pet rabbits.

Anybody have any experience with either? How much time do they take?

Zero time. Easiest thing in the world to raise and the meat is fab. Much cleaner than chicken raising too.

We've had "free range" rabbits in a little pen outside, they love greens but also love to dig so eventually we ended up lining nearly the whole bottom of the pen with wire fencing.

The next year we just set our wire cages down on the ground and moved them around.

Even just in traditional elevated rabbit cages they were fine and dandy.

We have a pet rabbit-- a Netherland dwarf. The cutest thing ever and very sweet tempered--puts up with all kinds of man-handling.

ND's are the smallest breed. I highly recommend for pets and showing. Very low maintainence! and the poop is great for the garden!

We also had an American lop and he was mean! He's gone now....

We just had wild rabbit for dinner last week. I was so pleased with how it turned out...the least "gamey" of all the wild game we've eaten this year, so we just started thinking of raising rabbit, ourselves. Would love to hear more details...

Stephanie, Californians and New Zealands are great for meat.   And boy do they produce! Every 28 days if you are not careful

Whatever you don't want to eat, is super easy to sell. gourmet resturants and cooks are always on the look out for these meat rabbits.
