Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I still have some bookmarks from when I was a college in the night table's drawer. They have accompanied me from the Dominican Republic to my married life. Now as far as using it that is another story. I can't never find a bookmark when I need it. I usually leave books strewn around opened upside down - and hear my father's voice telling me not to do that - or I end up using the library book cards.

On the subject of bookmarks, my dd12, has made beautiful cross-stitiched bookmarks for all members of the family as Christmas presents. Her rule is you don't get one until you can fluently read. Ds8, will be getting his this Christmas. And today she made one for her 15yr old uncle who is 'finally' learning to read. An incentive for him.

They are really lovley, your name is cross-stitched down the centre and the sides have lovely colours cris-crossed down them. Dd put some in the local show this year and received a prize. I'll definetly be keeping mine!

That is just touching that your brother was rewarded the bookmark. How wonderful of your dd!

I, too, have bookmarks from ages ago. I forget to use them

Erin,

Your dd is so precious! I have a bookmark w/ an illustration of Jesus and the little children from 1978. We all received them in 1st grade. I love all my bookmarks!! My ds has made them for Christmas presents, and in this material world is something to see how thankful people are for homemade gifts.
