while we have many days until it actually arrives, it is coming.
being here on the island has warped my seasonal 'sense' lol. it is summer all year long!
but summer means warm breezes, more fun time. travel perhaps...
what plans do you have for this coming summer?
do you have traditions each year? try something new? travel afar? stay at home?
what is happening for you?

Back to the East Coast, ACC instead of SEC, house-hunting for a rental till we get acclimated....

Congratulations, Theresa! How exciting!
I'm with the whole tropics mess up sense of seasons thing though, so I try to change out things like candles and fresh flowers to give a sense of the seasons, like tulips and a real florally candle in Spring and a basket of shells and daisies and a seaside candle for summer.
We're planning on packing our Summer Fun Bag this week. The water is definitely warm enough for getting wet already and I want to include a chamois this year, towels were too stinky in the trunk last year.

Houseguests!
Every summer we have tons of visitors. It's pretty chaotic, but it's wonderful to see old friends and family when we really have time to enjoy them.

We will spend most days at the lake with a few trips to the ocean and hiking the mountain.
I love LOVE LOVE the summers here.
We plan to head to southern California to visit family, and may take the 4 hour drive to Vegas to visit the homschool friends we miss so much.

I hope to REALLY garden this year!! My last real garden was in 2004 -- the past 3 summers there was too much traveling for dh's work + moving, etc. that I'm looking forward to LOTS of yardwork this year.
Oh yeah, houseguests too.

Our big change this year is looking forward to my son will be 'coming home for the summer' after being in school during the day since January. We will be homeschooling religion this summer as I'm not terribly impressed with the school's religion text.
Summer means swim team, family bike rides, vegetable gardening, and for my son this year, boy scout camp.
