Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Maryan started this really fun thread over here. Apparently, I wasn't the only one who noticed that there are a lot of Jennifers at 4Real -

So...just for fun...how many other Jennifers are out there? Were we all born about the same time? Just wondering if the name was really popular in the late 60's/early 70's?

I'm Jennifer Lynn
I'm 37
Most people call me Jen, but my family calls me Jenny

Curious to see how many more of you there are.

Jennifer here!!

I am almost 37, born in 1971 and there was always more than one Jennifer in my classes growing up.

When I see the user name "JenniferS" I always think it's me-then I have to remember I'm "JSchaaf"!

I'm a Jennifer Ann (without an "e" )

I was born before the name got REALLY popular.

The Social Security site has popular baby names. Jennifer was number 1 from 1970 until 1984.

My mother always apologized to me. She didn't pick it because it was popular.

Now having the name Jennifer that is pretty common and adding Miller to the end when I got married has made it necessary to repeat my birthdate everywhere I go for id purposes. There are too many Jennifer Millers!

Jennifer here, too. I was born in 1971, also. Back when I was kid, if someone said,"Hey, Jennifer," about everyone turned around to answer!

I'm Jennifer Leigh.

My baby sister was born only 8 days before 1971 and her name is Jennifer Leslie.

Extra note: I graduated from High School, Paula, 2 yrs after you.........and there were FIVE other "Sherries"....with different spellings in my 8th grade class.............and umpteenth Jennifers and Lisa's in my college dorm. In fact, I bet at least 50% were Lisa or Jennifer (yeah, I am almost exaggerating)

My name is not Jennifer, but my niece who was born in 1978 is named Jenny. When people would ask her if her name was Jennifer, she would reply, "Nope, just Jenny!" Anyway, we started calling her "Just Jenny" which turned into "JJ!" She, unlike so many of you Jennifer's is annoyed when people insist on lengthening her name!

Jennifer Lynne (with an 'e') born in 1971
I go mostly by Jen now but some of my friends still call me Jennifer- I went by Jenny in 3rd grade until I switched schools and there was already a Jenny in that class. The only one who ever calls me Jenny now is my husband and only when he's being cute and always with a Forrest Gump drawl
I'm not sure how many other Jennifers were in my classes in high school but there were a lot! I was Jones then and one of my "Jennifer" friends was Johnson and we used to get each others mail from school.

I wonder why "L" middle names go so well with Jennifer? I'm Jennifer Lucille (my middle name is an ancient family name - on both maternal and paternal sides!). I'll go by Jen or Jennifer but never Jenny, this has always been my opinion since one of my elementary teachers had to decide which Jennifer would go by what name on the first day of school. It worked out real well though when we moved to Warrensburg, MO for dh's masters - their mascot was the Jenny. Phew! Was I glad I was a Jen or Jennifer!

(not a Jennifer, sorry..)

Once, when I was 23 years old, I was introduced to another Lisa, she shook my hand and said "Wow, Lisa must have been a popular name in the 60's, I meet so many Lisa's our age!" I was mortified. I was born in '75!

I wish I was Jennifer Lynne (with an 'e')! I feel like Ann without an 'e.'

Ha Ha!!
Yes, I was "Lisa B" growing up, as there was "Lisa O." "Lisa W." and Lisa T." just in my class alone- there were at least 15 lisa's in my elementary school at any given time I was there!!
I was born in 1971. I'm Lisa Anne
Lisa is a derivitave of "Elisabeth" and I hate to say it, but I really really wish that had been my name instead. I've never felt like a Lisa, ya know???
