I've looked at "how-to" videos on youtube, but it didn't help with what I'm looking for. Some people seem to be recording from their webcam, or maybe a digital camera? I have a digital camera, but then what do I do once the video is captured on the camera and get it on to youtube?

Have you uploaded the video? What do you want to do with it? Do you want to send a link to people by e-mail, put it on a blog, or a website? All you need is the URL that youtube supplies if you're sending or posting a link. If you're embedding it into a blog or website there's a specific "embed" code also supplied by youtube that you just copy-and-paste.
hope this helps!
any more questions, just holler!

Just in case you're like me and need a little more:
I upload my video from my camera to my computer (I just used Adobe Photo software) using the cord supplied by my camera to a USB port on my computer
Then I upload the video to well...actually I use Google's Version of YouTube... but I'm sure it's the same.
And follow the rest of Stef's instructions...

I don't have the video, yet. But for what I'm thinking of, it's just to have a video available to watch on youtube. (Right now, anyway.)Maybe you did answer that question, and I'm still so computer 'illiterate'. I need to know the very specifics. Can I use my dig. camera? I have a couple vid's of my children that I took, (not that that's what I want to put up - just so you know), if I can get it saved on to my computer, what exactly do I do to get it available on youtube? (Step by step )

you posted while I was typing...
I don't even know if I have Adobe Photo software. I do know that when I uploaded some pics, that I was able to watch the little video I took on my computer. BUT, I was not able to email it to my dh b/c it was 'too large' of a file or something....I guess that's not what I'm asking anyway, though.

Sorry, I thought you had already made the movie and uploaded it to youtube. Here's a step-by-step then:
1. Make a movie on your digital camera.
2. Transfer the movie from the digital camera to your hard drive -- this is the USB connection Maryan's talking about. You don't need special software for this. If your computer can detect the connected device, you can upload your file. One way to do this is to navigate to where the file is by going to My Computer (unless you named it something else), then the device (e.g., Removable Disk F). Once there you can right-click and choose "Send to Desktop", or if you want, right-click-cut-paste then paste onto whichever folder you want it in.
You should see it then as a file on your computer, for instance:
C:\Desktop\Syncletica's Movies\moviesample.avi (or mov or whatever suffix -- youtube takes most of them)
From there you go to Maryan's instructions, then back to mine up top

No problem :)
Yes, get a YouTube account. Once you're there click on "Help" -- there's an entire directory there of help files you can peruse -- but if you need more help, come back here:)
here's the YouTube help center
