Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am not sure how familiar many of you may be with this retreat but I would love for you to be thinking of me and 3 other women (Jenny,Lisa, & Susan) from my parish that will be making our Cursillo this Thursday 3rd thru Sunday 6th.
Many things are not being said about the weekend and I am sure there are reasons for that.
What I do know is that it is time for each individual to get close to God and find their own spiritual journey. My goal is to learn more about my relationship with Christ and the Church. I hope to gain some perspective on my life in an interfaith marriage. I want to be the best role model for my children spiritually. I feel this weekend will be rewarding. My hope is that during my weekend some of you prayerful women will keep me in mind during your daily prayer time. I gleen so much from you all and I do not feel I would even be taking this invitation to join the retreat with out the multitude of information I have learned from each one of you. You have all given me spiritual strength I never knew I had. Thank you for reading this post and I hope to come back refreshed and ready to share how the Holy Spirit has blessed my soul.

P.S. Let me know if you have made a Cursillo retreat before. It would be nice to be in touch after I come back.
May God Bless You All

I'm sorry that I only just saw this Anne. How was it? I hope that you received many blessings from your week end.

I made a Cursillo almost 4 years ago when I was heavily pregnant with our last child. We have a very large and strong Cursillo community where I live which is a lovely way to keep that community of Christ alive. Our parish priest is always saying that small groups make a community, then the community meets to share Mass.

Cursillo was an important par of my dh's journey. He saw the Body of Christ living and active in Cursillo etc, and wanted to be a part of it. He was received into the church when our baby was Baptised!

Praying for your continuing journey!

Des Coloures! (sp? )

De Colores! I must have missed this before too! I made my Cursillo 2 weeks after being received into the church, so it was about 6 years ago or so. It was an amazing weekend. I always say I wish we could do a cursillo every year, lol.

I'm involved in a prayer group of cursillestas, and we try to meet once a month.   My church also does Ultreya once a month--though it seems it's always a bad night for us, so we haven't been able to go in a very long time.

I hope you had a great weekend, and I'll keep you in my prayers as you enter your 4th day!

Thank you ladies for responding. I was beginning to think no one had ever heard of Cursillo . It is good to know we are all sisters in Christ! I am having a fabulous 4th day. Thanks for the prayers.

I made Cursillo back in 1994. It's been a long time. I don't even remember the Cursillo #.

congratulations Anne. Cursillo is really big here in the Diocese that dh works in (Peoria, IL) and we have witnessed amazing conversions through it. We were also just commenting that some of the "strongest" kids in the Newman Centers in this Diocese (Bradley University, U of I and ISU) are Cursillo/TEC kids.

My dh is making his first Cursillo this June if all goes according to plan. Then I will go after him. I, too, am part of the Peoria IL diocese, and was involved in Koinonia (similar retreat for college age), and TEC. I am looking forward to Cursillo.

Happy Forth Day! I am glad that you had a wonderful time.
