He was due March 23rd, but born March 15th! He weighed 7lbs 11oz and was 20.5" long.

 >>I knew that others had been praying. I woke up at 3-ish am on Saturday morning with Cx. Didn't wake dh until about 5:30 when I was sure, they'd gotten 5 min apart and stronger. Then we tried to call our babysitter, and it turned out it was the one day they couldn't help us, their oldest daughter's engagement ceremony was that same day.

We thought no biggie, I'd ask another friend, then I realised she was away at a homeschool conference.... Oh, no! So I said to dh we'd just take 'em along and do the best we could. By the time we got driving to Hospital it was 7am, I got onto the Maternity ward by 7:30. The Cx were bad, but I was still a working mother, and had to still help, and so I tried to really put on a good face for them. Then I thought, if I can't have dh with me, I'd better have an epidural, that way, when I have no support person, I won't lose it. But she checked me ( a wonderful nurse from Great Britain) and I was already at 8. So no epidural, no dh.

 TMI:

God was with me and William though, my Cx were only coming about every 4 min and never got closer than that. Very quickly we realised something was going wrong, his heart was decelerating every time I had a Cx. So the nurse was directing me to take very deep breaths, so instead of focusing on massive pain, I felt like every breath I tried to take was keeping William alive, I had started bleeding. OB came in, I was only 8-9, not great progress. He broke my water told them to give me morphine, but the nurse and I agreed together there likely was no point, as they started like they were preparing to catch the baby.... We all thought birth was imminent. I had no back pain at all, baby was at -2. Decelerations still happening, Oxygen mask on, more bleeding, apparently the placenta was ready to go. They were confident that any moment I would start to push, we didn't realise baby was occipital posterior. I was waiting for the fullness, the slipping, anything.... But nothing, and continued.... arms over my head huge breaths, feeling like baby was slipping away. Then they brought in dh, Doctor told them to get forceps ready (He thought I'd had the morphine) He sat in a chair very quietly watching he said he could not see the baby coming down, then told me, that there was no waiting, I must push him out now with the Cx, or he'd have to go in and get him, the placenta was coming and he was very worried about me and baby. So Dh and nurse grabbed my legs.... And sisters, we pushed, I pushed with everything I had, and there was nothing, he wouldn't move. Inside I was thinking, my goodness he must be huge, how can there be time for a C-section to save his life now? I looked at the Doctor and said "please help me".... He jumped from his stool, and immediately started the episiotomy, I am sure he gave me a local on my bottom..... But there was pain, especially when he put in the forceps, he thought I had taken the morphine. So he started to pull, I started to push, then he sat back, I am pretty sure I was nearly screaming. He said "I don't understand, she's had morphine", then the nurse said "No" then they scrambled to get it in the IV before my next Cx. The room suddenly seemed fuller (pediatricians had arrived) Much more pulling, and pushing and honestly there was no feeling that there was any progress, then my sweet husband's voice said "I see his face!"--- William was face up, and dh started crying, that intense, stress-release cry that men cry. And then William came out crying and beautiful, the placenta had started to come off the wall, there was a lot of blood. I said "Jesus" with such joy, I felt so confused, and frightened but so elated and realised God had carried me and William. And I'd thought that I was going to be alone. I was worried someone would think I took the Lord's Name in vain... But I don't think they did afterall.

He was beautiful good colour and screaming, and scored 9 and 9 Apgars, the pediatricians said he was doing very well, he didn't need to go to NICU. Then they all started to visibly rejoice, I think everyone was very grim moments before, such joy in the life of one tiny person! Then I heard them rejoicing in the other children, I had forgotten all about them, there were tremendous smiles, and they brought my precious children in to see us. There was a lot of joy in that room. Afterwards the nurse said "You did great Dr Awad, you don't normally do any vag---- births" Shocked I think God sent that man, he didn't hesitate to act on his instincts. I feel so overwhelmed with gratitude.

Twice my wonderful nurse (she was the charge nurse) came to visit me and said that she would never forget that day or that birth, she said it was something she could just simply never forget. She couldn't seem to say what she wanted to say, just that it was beautiful and she wouldn't forget us.

So I was wanting to be salty, instead God was present in a mysterious way, and He was all the salt we needed through the life of these precious children He has gifted to us for now.

Thank you, thank you for praying for us.

Well it wasn't easy, but I was sure elated that he was safe and healthy, he had quite a large purple band across his forehead (bruising from OP labour)! He was checked over by two pediatricians who said he was perfect.
And I sure was happy to have those forceps behind me.... Our children were also all there, it was a really wonderful moment!

Rebecca--You are both just gorgeous and what a story you'll have to tell him about the day he was born. Thank God all worked out well and you have a sweet little one to cradle.
