Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Pam,

I have a shopping guide from the Weston Price Foundation. They have a list of "second best" in the milk department. They suggest full-fat, not homogenized, grass-fed milk. If you can't find that, try to get organic milk that isn't ultra-pasteurized. Failing that, I'd probably only eat cultured dairy--yogurt and kefir.

Good luck! We're so lucky right now to have raw milk available at a good price.

Susan

The milk Susan described is sometimes called "creamline." You might try calling local dairies to see if they carry it (since I know the dairy here that does--not every store that carries their stuff carries this kind). Sometimes you can order by the crate and get a better deal (this milk is more expensive at the store than the raw milk I get!).

Vat pasteurized is another key word.
