Please offer an Ave for my dd. She was left in the lurch at the last minute by her roommate. The situation has been hurtful (my dh and I suspect the girl's family may have grown uncomfortable with dd Catholicism but dd is trying to figure out what she did to annoy or cause who she thought was her very good friend to want to cease to room with her and pull back from the friendship)- but it has also meant that she is scrounging for a roommate when everyone else is already set. Today is the day everything has to be finally decided - and I could tell that a lot of things are coming together to stress her right now. I'm concerned that she not get stuck with some obnoxious situation and that this situation not make her bitter about forming close friendships. She is also in a really stressful church situation where they have recently started requiring everyone to sit for the gospel and they have altered the Eucharistic prayer - though at least not the words of consecration. They never have the correct Psalm but use some Marty Haugen version. She desperately needs at least a good spiritual director or support.

Oh gosh Janet, it is probably for the best that this roommate leaves. I will pray for a happy, healthy resolution to this situation, also for the spiritual guidance that your DD could use.

Update and clarification!
I want to be sure that everyone knows that our dd current roommate is a lovely girl whom we all like very much and still do! Things were just so sudden (probably triggered after her roommate chose to go to Mass with dd - not at the college - and seemed quite interested in everything) that it took dd by surprise and, naturally, she was hurt wondering what she'd done to make her want to room with someone else when she didn't even have another person in mind. This girl has in no way tried to hurt our dd or anything like that. We really believe that she is simply acting in obedience to her parents - and is probably suffering as much as dd. I'm sure she could use a prayer or two herself - as I'm not sure she has any other roommate or anything yet herself - and she currently has the flu.
Thanks for prayers. It looks like my dd may have found another roommate who agrees with the no boys in the room rule and such. Nothing set yet so an occassional Ave if you think of it would be great.
We would really like for her to be able to find a good spiritual director -even if it has to be through correspondence or telephone. I know I don't know what to advise about the local parish situation.
Anyways thanks for all the prayers - this mama is at least relieved that there is someone particular that might be interested in rooming - and dd won't have to take just whoever gets thrown in the room.
There have been so many very serious prayer requests that this is so trivial, but we are truely grateful for your prayers.
