Husband is taking 3yo son to pediatrician now, if we hadn't been able to consult w/nurse and get in very quickly my mother's intuition would have said ER. The symptoms weren't overall that dire -- sudden onset, not terribly high fever, sleeping tons, but now there are these apparent welts, which look like when he had an antibiotic allergy, but the only med he's had has been a dose last night of children's pseudoephedrine. He is language delayed so he can't tell us in much detail about how he feels.
I'm 15 wks. pregnant and also got sick at the same time (fever but not too high before acetaminophen, cough and sore throat maybe from coughing, feeling achy.) Almost-6yo might be coming down w/something but maybe not. Husband as usual is most well and is able to take 3yo to the pediatrician w/o me, but I sure hope they can come straight home.

Updated: thanks for praying, it sounds like a pretty nasty ear infection (I'm amazed he was able to sleep so much, to the point we didn't really have a chance to give him pain/fever meds last night; the extent of his sleepiness was one of the things worrying me), and maybe flu, but the welts had gone by the time they arrived but the doctor noted some irritated skin elsewhere and wondered if he might be reacting to a new detergent -- he's always seemed to have sensitive skin and seems pretty allergy prone. Let's hope he's not allergic to this antibiotic! Anyway, he's eating some cantaloupe, still not quite his usual self but has been fairly cheerful when awake, considering.
Second update: guessing flu, as dr. said it could be but didn't test for. 5yo is coughing and miserable now. Hubby still seems ok but has hints of possible impending illness, and being self-employed has no paid sick or family leave, so I'm willing to keep asking for prayers for us, including our unborn baby...
