Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just bought some soft star shoes for my two littlests. They've wore shoo shooes and bobux in the past and I've always been happy with them, but the soft star shoes (not the mocs) looked so cute to me and the prices (during the Feb. sale) were right so I went for it.

I they are true to size, which is great, but I am concerned about the laces. Mark's fell off of him twice already, and thank goodness we were in the van when they did! (I'd hate to loose one!) It would make sense if I tied them tighter they would stay on, but I'm hesitant to tie them any tighter around his chunky little(!) ankle. Molly's are elastic, and she has wore them non stop for DAYS now. (seriously, I have to wait till she's asleep to take them off, she loves 'em!)

Suzanne, I know you love these. Have you had the laced shoes before? And have you had any issues with them? They are so cute!

I've only had the velcro ones, so no experience with the ties.

Fyi....I just talked to them yesterday, and the gal mentioned that once kids get to be 2 years or so, many people prefer elastic, as it's easier for the kids themselves to put on.

I'd call them and ask if there are any "tricks" that they have for a 6 month old with the laces.
