for those who want a fun little science project (child size) or maybe you need to container garden, here is a site to buy mini vegetable seeds.

That's too funny. I just wrote about it this week. I'm going to order some soon.

We received our seeds and dh helped the dc plant them last night. This is so fun, I cannot wait to see all these mini veggies. If anyone else does this post and we can compare notes.

We have those mini green houses you can pick up at Lowes etc. We only planted certain plants that need a head start, ie tomatoes, mini cukes
We have a sun room filled with seed trays, waiting to make it out to the cold frames.
Are you doing this Lisa?

Molly, We planted some flowers in the mini greenhouses last week. I want to do the mini veggies, I've had my cart loaded up for a week now, but I can't figure out the logistics of it. I have a sunny window where I could keep some things inside, would that work? Could I just keep them indoors then?

Seeds should not be sown in direct sunlight, less they become leggy. You just need in-direct light until it is time to plant outside.
Does that help? Or am I missing the point?

Great link Molly. My kids are all waiting to start gardening. I have had a draft post on my blog for weeks - just trying not to get overwhelmed.
I am thinking of doing the containers Jennifer suggested on another link (will post it later) - on my deck - surely when the heat hits I can walk onto the deck!
My kids are growing in wading pools - the miniatures with zucchini will grow well.
Ruth - you have inspired me - my kids love Miss Rumphius - I will have to find some seeds.
