Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Since I have exercised two days this week, I'm thinking about rewarding myself with an Ipod. Ok, I really was going to wait a bit more than two days but I got an email from Apple that their Ipod Shuffle is $49.00. My kiddos bought themselves the Nano and dh has a classic.

Anyone have a Shuffle? Does not having a screen bother you? Is there another way to look at your selections to find what you want to listen to?
Should I keep exercising and wait for a really good deal?

Is that the really little one?

Bill had the bigger one with a screen first and actually downsized to the shuffle because it doesn't bounce around when he runs. He NEVER uses his other one anymore. He even offered it to me, but I can't take it in the pool.

I don't know how he knows what he's listening to except to say that he has a really good memory when it comes to music.

I don't have a shuffle - because not being able to choose music *would* bug me. But, if you were using primarily for exercising, and you filled it with exercise music, then it'd be okay.

I have a 30G and I have kid music, podcasts, books on tape, my music, sleepy music, and a myriad of playlists I created for different moods/activities. I have a converter for the car, as well as a station in the house so we can all listen to the music/books I have on mine.

However, my ipod is too big to exercise much with. It works for me, since I'm usually walking with a stroller for exercise and it sits in the top of the stroller. There are armbands for it, but I don't know how bulky it would be on the arm?

Thanks for the helpful info, online and by phone. I guess this is not the Ipod I want, it sounds like all it does is "shuffle" your music for you. Also, I don't run, so a bigger one would probably not bother me to much. I would like to have an Ipod I can put a Rosary on. So, maybe after a few weeks of exercising I'm splurge and get a bigger one. How long till they come up with a waterproof one???

I've heard there is a waterproof case for them but that the earbuds that don't distort under water and are affordable are the issue.

The armband design isn't so much bulky as not designed well to keep it from bouncing. The ipod attaches to it like a knife case on a belt instead of being completely inside the armband. I bet if you could sew you could design and make a better one fairly easily.
