Well, our house has sold, and we have to be out by April 1. We just put in an offer on a place in Stratford, OK this afternoon. It all looks good, and we'll be having the inspection performed next Monday, assuming it all goes according to plan and they accept the offer and all that goes with it.
Its 3400 sq ft, on 10 acres, with 4 bdrm/2.5 baths...space for an extra fridge and freezer inside the house, one story, and with a mudroom/laundry room with a completely separate entrance to the house--you don't have to walk in the main back door, just go in the side, and go back out....
Yep. We would have a closing date of 20 March. Yeah. A month to get loaded and get moved to OK. Fortunately, the army will move us....

Yay! How exciting Rachel! Praying all goes well with the offer and inspection and closing of this house! It sounds really nice - big, and with lots of land for the kids to roam!
What a whirlwind month you'd have. Sounds like a fun adventure!

I've been packing slowly but then I don't have to be out of our current home right away so I am afforded a little time.

Well, they signed it...but with "provisos"...so we had to counter again...sigh...
LOL
But at least they only changed a couple of things that we can live with...

Well, I'm praying too.
Its kind of weird. They added a 72 hr "kick out" clause--where, after accepting our offer, they had 72 hours where if someone else came along with cash (or a better "offer") they could back out of our contract, and take the new one, with no penalties or anything. Uh, NO! Our agent said that she had never heard of it in over 10 yrs of real estate experience--at least, not in a situation like this one! All of her fellow agents said the same thing (she's in a good-sized Keller Williams realty in Norman OK). So we said NO way in..well, ykwim. LOL. They lowered the price for the flooring allowance we wanted for the sun room (its almost finished, and we wanted to pick the tiles we wanted in there...didn't want to end up with something we would want to replace right away, iykwim).
Oh. And we had set a closing date of March 20, with immediate possession. Well, they added that they wanted 30 days after closing to move out. Uh, NO....that won't work, since we have GOT to be out of here nlt March 31. So we in the new revised counter from us, we set a closing date of March 6, and gave them til March 31. That's an additional 11 days over our original contract, but less than what they wanted. We just need to have a place to live. Even dragging out our leaving here til the end of March, we won't be able to dally and dawdle our way across the country, since we're going to be renting a moving van for some of the things we need to have right off. So we cannot afford to take our time...
Anyway, prayers for a speedy solution would be MUCH appreciated...

Now, we'll see how everything else goes.
I'm tired. I'm glad this is almost all over (lol--and I know it is nowhere near all over, but if it makes me feel better...lol)

Rachel-Don't think about the rest yet, just take a day to enjoy the peace that this is over and rest up a bit. Yeah, you're on your way! It looks lovely too. So much space for you guys to enjoy.
