Because of our local stock show we have been reading about cowboys. This is fun book about a young man who wants to be a real cowboy but doesn't quite seem to fit in until his special talent saves the day. It's full of cowboy terms like dogie, pardner, rawhide halo, and whittle-whangin'. It is also an introduction to cowboy poetry. I know the author, which I think is cool. She is a local writer and she's Catholic, too.
