Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This seems so silly and minor, but could y'all send up a prayer today (maybe to St. Florian? ) for the heater-repairman to come today and fix our heater? He came yesterday, charged $300 and only fixed the heater for about 30 minutes after he left. We survived, thanks to God's graces (and the outside temp only going down to the upper40s!), but it's supposed to get colder the rest of this week and we do sort of need heat ....

THANKS!

Not silly or minor, Mary, and we'll definitely pray! In fact, we're praying specifically for people affected by the cold this week (as we read Days of the Blackbird).

Not silly or minor at all where you live, Mary. I offer a BIG prayer.

We've actually been quite fortunate -- it was 49 this morning at 5 a.m., so it couldn't have been too bad overnight....

The guy of course can't come till 2-5 today and I'm just hoping he'll be able to do the work necessary. It was put in in 2004 but the former owners never serviced it and we had forgotten last year ....

We are waiting for the heating repairman, too! We do have heat on the main level, but haven't had heat on the bedroom level for almost a week. And it has been cold at night, in the low teens, which in VA is COLD! It is amazing just how cold 55degrees is when that is the temp in your bedroom.

Prayers coming Mary! Hopefully, we will both be warm tonight.

Brrrr. It's soooo cold here right now. -30 C . Not sure what the windchill is but it's got to be cold. I'm so thankful that our furnace is running ( and running and running). Praying your heat will get turned back on as soon as possible.

Mary -

It sounds like you are really living the Freeze Yer Buns challenge! Praying that the repairman comes promptly and fixes your heat for real.

Peace,
Nancy

Isn't that why we have all these kids -- so we can keep warm even when the heat is out? I remember when we were in Austria, we were gone over Christmas break (3 weeks) and our 18-inch thick stucco walls took 3 or 4 days to warm up to the high 50/low 60s; boy did we do lots of cuddling then!

Thanks -- prayer to you too ... at least we're in the 50s outside today and with our big windows, we're having a great lesson in solar heat!

Living in the desert, we're seriously into temperature control - a very big deal! We just purchased a new AC/Heat Pump - a Cadillac with a service contract to match - in the hopes of avoiding being without AC in 120degree weather! I'm praying, Mary:).

Love,

Brrr I can't imagine going without a heater, Mary! Our air-conditioner went out the August before last, so we boiled for a few days, but I'd gladly take 100+ temperatures over 40s and 50s any day! I'm cold now and it's only 68! :-/ I could never live up north...

Many prayers coming your way. I do hope that he really fixes the heat this afternoon.

Oh prayers for a quick and lasting fix, Mary! Our heater broke last night - and we went to 26 here in AL!    But all is well and we got fixed today - though we're $500 poorer. I sure hope you guys don't get too cold tonight!
