Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Is this even possible?? I've searched and searched for a website/book/etc. that would tell me how to do this. I'd love to be able to make crusty artisan bread with my freshly ground hard white flour. If I'm just chasing a pipe dream, someone let me know now so I'll stop this maddening search!!

I read this post at Mozart and Mudpies this morning. I am not sure if she grinds her own wheat or not. I suppose we could ask.
Last night I made Paninis for dinner that everyone enjoyed. The sourdough bread I bought didn't hold up great though so I would like to make my own.
Now I'm off to check out the book Chari recommended.

Chari, I'm assuming you use his recipes with your own home ground wheat?

no, I do not grind my own wheat......but I believe HE does.

I just checked.........either he does it himself, or he has a grain miller do it for him.

He helped improve my breadmaking overall. He makes artisan breads.....he is an artist, studying in Paris, NYC, etc......

Now, to get back to baking my own bread

In fact......the book looked so inspiring......I may have to start rereading it.....now, to find TIME to read

I have been in contact with William Rubel about a Lithuanian rye I am trying to make. He has a forum. Judging from his website he might be someone who could give you some direction. He has been incredibly helpful to me.

Good luck,

Beth
