Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

In the discussions of Our Lady of Altagracia this site was linked on a couple occassions. In looking at the site more closely I find that it contains a wealth of information about all the national Marian images that are venerated in the Latin and South American countries. There are two sites that contain virtually the same information so am including them both. Great resource.

Hispanic Online.com Mary, Patroness of the Americas

University of Dayton Mary Page Marian Titles in the Popular Religiosity of Latin America

For our Catholic Mosaic/Liturgical Story Time that our homeschool group had this week I put together a little challenge for the kids. I had pictures of Marian images/titles from around the world and cards with the names of countries. They had to match the images with the countries that corresponded. They worked in teams. It seemed to be a hit - the moms enjoyed it too and asked for the document of images. It's a great way to study geography.

Mary,
This is even better than the "Around the World with Cinderella" geography study

The girls and I still come across a Cinderella book that we haven't read yet (our library and home book shelf doesn't have them all ) but that study is about complete.

What a perfect follow-up study this will make.

How about including, in this thread, picture books (such as the ones in Catholic Mosaic : A Gift of Gracias and Juanita and Our Lady of the Angels and The Lady of Guadalupe ) that we could use with each country.
