Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Kim Fry has a great piece on her blog: Doing it All

And so does Jenn. She writes about Why Do I Make it So Hard. I think many will see themselves reflected in both these ponderings.

Thank you, ladies, for sharing your thoughts so freely and eloquently with us.

I loved Kim's slogan...there's always time to do what God is calling you to do...how profoundly true that is!

And, I think we all need to hear that once in a while (for me, Queen of Overvolunteerism, probably once per hour!). God has called us here. Have we left Him time enough to listen?

Thank you God for leading these wonderful ladies to say so well what we all need to remember, what we all think, but what we so rarely feel free enough to actualy say. To admit, we can't do it all and we shouldn't do it all. And doing it all is NOT a requirement of being good mothers, wives, Catholics, homeschoolers, women.

thank goodness!

Great stuff! How true, and right now, when you can start to struggle with mid-winter blues, reading how others seem to be so successful can feel so defeating. You feel like you are the only one who struggles with homeschooling a large family.

I am not sure how but the book I started yesterday seems to fit in with this theme so well - I honestly almost started to cry while reading the beginning yesterday -

It is The Reed of God by Caryll Houselander. I've really only just started it but I thought I would mention it as it seems to fit so well with the coming of Lent and the February blues.

Anyone else know it?

Donna, I adore Caryll Houselander. She speaks so intimately to my heart. I love the Reed of God, but my MOST favorite is: Little Way of the Infant Jesus. Read it!
