Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Have any of you started a Hope Chest with your dds? What would you put into one? Is there a list that girls can use? I have a few ideas of my own but would like some ideas of what others have done or used.

Thanks!
God bless,

There was a wonderful thread on this topic last year that might give you some ideas to start with:
Hope Chests for Our Daughters

I love the idea of including favorite childhood books for my children to read to their own babies.

Anyway, looking forward to others' thoughts!

This is such a neat idea! And my daughter and I have been talking about this lately.

We have to save for the chest first. But, we have a whole set of china that her grandmother gave me(but it's going to my dd ) And, I've been saving special baby dresses for her to use with her little ones, and special books. Also, some pretty lace we found at a fabric sale that can be curtains or a nice tablecloth. I was sort of hoping that as she grew, her dad and I could give her a nice gift for her hope chest each year. I also really wanted to focus on the spiritual - because what if she discerns a vocation to the religious life? So I thought it might be neat to include a card each year with a spiritual bouquet from her dad and I praying for her discernment of her future vocation.

I'm really hoping to get some other great ideas - so I'm watching closely.

I have started hopechests for our dd and for now I'm just including things that they like in our home that are hard to find. I've also started to collect books that they liked when they were very young, so that they may read them to their own little ones.
