Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Ladies,

I am looking to buy some of these to put in my oven. I pm'ed Stef about it but her inbox is full Maybe someone else can help me find them or maybe Stef will see this post. I have looked at Lowe's and they don't have them and I know that Home Depot doesn't either. I have called a couple of tile distributors in my area and they don't stock them, but could order them. I need them now, so I don't want to order them. Am I just asking for the wrong thing? I ask for "unglazed terra cotta tiles". Thanks for any help

Beth

Hi Beth, I've been around but having trouble staying logged in so I can't respond unless I switch browsers, and my PC is sloooooow...

Anyway, they may be labeled "quarry tiles" or "terra cotta tiles" -- there's usually a bunch of different terra cotta shapes and styles, but you'll see that there's a difference -- the glazed ones are shinier. the unglazed have an unfinished look.

like this -- sorry, i was looking for a close up, but didn't find one, oh wait, maybe i've got one on my blog...

here you go:

Thanks Stef! I just went to the Lowe's website and looked under quarry tiles and I found them. Unfortunately the closest one that has them is Edwardsville I looked on Home Depot's website and they don't seem to have them. Perhaps I could somehow get them shipped up the the DC store. Thanks again, I knew that I was just asking for the wrong thing.
