Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I seem to remember that Seton came out with math for lower elementary grades. Anyone use it? How has it worked out? How has it compared with other programs you've used? Pluses? Minuses?

Thanks!!

Kelly:

We have used the new Seton math for grades k, 1, and 2. It has been fine but I am will return them to Saxon next year. I prefer when concepts are revisited continually rather than one week of clocks, one week of fractions, etc. The kids do not prefer one over the other. It is sprinkled throughout with black and white pictures of saints, the holy family, etc. Lots of pages with drill, very few word problems, space has seemed adequate for the kids to write the answers, pages are perforated. Overall we are pleased with the quality & price but prefer using Saxon (in our own way, not following their teacher guides). HTH!

Hi, I considered using it this year but decided against it because the topics appeared to switch to quickly. I however, have been having problems with Math with my oldest daughter who doesn't seem to get it irregardless of the program or approach.
