My eldest's 20th birthday is coming up. When my 8yo dd asked her what she wanted, she jokingly said, "A trip to Hawaii." This got my daughter thinking that we should give her a Family Luau for her birthday, which I think will be really fun! (I'm thinking my little ones would enjoy making an airplane out of a box for her to "fly" to the party, too! And a bouncy "surf board" in front of a fan is a definite must.)

I'd like to prepare for this party by doing a unit study on the state of Hawaii. It would be especially fun if my daughter could create a simple "Happy Birthday" hula dance for the rest of us to put on for the Birthday Girl, so if anyone knows where we could learn more about that, it'd be great! Of course, we'll be learning about volcanos, ocean life, foods, music, games, etc, so any and all resources will be greatly appreciated.
