Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello & happy New Year!

I have been wondering about a few things Montessori...

1) Has anyone had any luck finding a download-able cursive Montessori font online? I have found a good site for a free download of the traditional Montessori font & after a google search followed a link to this site for the cursive but didn't think it looked quite right.

2) Does anyone know of any other good Montessori forums? A crazy question, I know, I know - I absolutely LOVE this forum but since I have decided that we're not going to homeschool for the time-being I feel like I can't really comment or get involved in many things (although soooooo much of it seems relevant - my eldest is now in a 3-6 program but we still try and follow Montessori principles at home... plus my just-2 year old is being Montessorified at home)

3) Has anyone read "Nurturing the Spirit: in non-sectarian classrooms"? Although the 'non-sectarian' title may be off-putting to some people, I really want to recommend it. I'm still only half way through it - reading a book I love takes me ages - I have to take extensive notes!! The author stresses that it is really relevant to the religious classroom too - the purpose of the title is to introduce the idea of Spirit for everyone, religious or not.

Big love to our Montessori-community whatever shape we all take!
PEACE,

Amber

I can only reply to #2. Sorry! I don't think I'm out of line to say that you'll always be welcome here, whether you're homeschooling or not. There's a mix of people here; some homeschool exclusively, others have one child in a traditional school and homeschool the others, or vice versa. And I'm sure there are other who don't "homeschool" in the traditional sense but still work with their children at home to supplement their schooling.

The only other Montessori forum I know of is run by a Montessori company and they pretty much use it to promote their own products. It's not a big help. This place is waaay better!

Thanks Lori,
That's very kind of you to say - actually, the process of writing my post made me think about how "homeschool-y" i actually feel even if we are ALSO using a Montessori preschool program. Thanks
