A lady from our parish has asked for prayers for her 7 yr old neice and her family. Three weeks before Christmas they were told that their little girl Jenna, will be totally blind within weeks.  There is no cure. This was totally out of the blue, and naturally the family are struggling with this news. They would greatly appreciate your prayers.
St Lucy, pray for them.

Tricia, this is just awful, what horrible news!
There was a very famous case of healing through the intercession of Padre Pio of a girl who was born with no pupils at all (still didn't have them, even after being given sight) and the girl's name was very similar to this girl - Gemma. How sad and shocking. I am praying for Jenna through the intercession of St. Lucy, St. Pantaleon, and St. Pio. (Our family regularly turns to Padre Pio for intercession. His aid has resulted in several miracles -- large and small -- in our family. Thanks for sharing the story, Anne. I did not know this about Padre Pio.)

I can only imagine what they are going through! I think of my girls, 8 & 6, and all they love to do. What a cross!
