Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone get the Cooking with Paula Deen magazine? I quickly looked through the December issue while I was standing in line at the grocery store last month. There was a display/decorating idea toward the back that had little winter settings displayed inside a covered glass platter. I didn't get to read the details and when I went looking on-line for covered glass platters all I was finding were cake platters. The ones in the magazine seemed smaller. I am wondering if the magazine lists a source for this type of platter - could they be cheese platters? Maybe they were just bigger than I remember since I didn't have much time. Anyway, I thought it was such a cute idea and could be used year around for little seasonal or liturgical "vignettes" to display.

I don't have the magazine, but I think you are referring to cheese domes, which are smaller than the cake.

Jenn, have you seen cheese domes, all clear glass with a pedestal? The cheese domes I'm findng have wood or marble bottoms or don't have a pedestal. That is what I'm looking for but not able to find thus my question about the magazine. I'm hoping she actually refers to a source. I think one could get by with some of the options out there, but these were just particularly pretty. And again they could be bigger than I remember and be cake platters instead.
