Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What brand of vitamins do you buy for yourself, dh, and kids? If you could elaborate a bit on why you chose that brand that would be helpful too! I used to just buy whatever's on sale, then I switched to whatever I can find at Whole Foods/Wild Oats/Organic Food Co-op, but then recently I was reading some vitamin reviews and I'm totally confused again and don't know which brands I can trust.

Thanks in advance for your help!

well, if you want to spend a lot of $$, the best thing I've seen available is a liquid supplement called VIBE, sold by the company Eniva. see here

We have taken it off & on, mostly because my MIL and SIL are distributors. They also sell probiotics which have seriously helped several people we know with digestive issues.

Otherwise, we go for Centrum (adults) and Flintstones (kids!)

For myself I use either Rainbow Light Complete Prenatal System or NF Formulas Prenatal Forte (both good for pregnancy and/or nursing which I've been doing for the last 11 years and a bit) - and are totally worth the money for me.. I can feel a difference when I don't have them.

For the kids, I've liked the children's KAL vitamins we get at the healthfood store.. and the kids like them.

For dh.. ummm I think I'm doing great if I can get him to take something when he's hurting so I don't bother buying him vits since all they'd do is sit on the shelf.

We do VIBE by Eniva. So far the only vitamin that does not kill my stomach.

I have NEVER been able to take vitamins because they made me nauseous and hurt my stomach. However, I was tipped off to this brand by a large yahoo nutrition group.

These vitamins are very small (double thickness of baby aspirin) and very easy to swallow. Plus they don't hurt my stomach at all. They are rather inexpensive ($20 for 1.5 month supply) and they have given me so much energy!

Here is a linkto a random place that sells them.

Rainbow Light for me and the dc (teen formula for 13yodd, and kids' for 10yods and 8yods). Dh takes Androvite. For me, it's a good compromise between a regular multivitamin (like Centrum) and Optivite.
