Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Not sure where to post this....mods please move if needed.

We are moving to the Cedar Rapids area of Iowa in 1 month and I was wondering if there were other Eastern Iowa moms here??

I am from Iowa so know the area but looking for homeschool families and other like minded moms to meet.
We've only been in Washington for 3.5 yrs but our whole homeschool experience has been here. I have little knowledge of the hs atmosphere in Iowa.

Off to pack
Ann

Hi Ann,
We belong to Sacred Heart Homeschool Group based in Iowa City, which as you probably know is south of Cedar Rapids. We actually live another hour south of Iowa City, but there are folks that come from all over! My dh just today took the three older girls to First Friday mass! They do Little Flowers and Blue Knights before mass. Today there was a baptism also for a newly adopted baby.

As far as atmosphere, we've never had too many difficulties. I think Iowa is somewhere in the middle; there are states that make it harder and there are states that don't pay much attention to homeschoolers.

Anyone else from Iowa want to chime in? PM me for more detailed info! Happy packing!
God bless,
Angela

Hi Angela,
I've heard that IC may have a few more resources for homeschoolers. We looked at living there but didn't find anything that worked for us.
But I do love IC so I'm sure we'll be spending a lot of time there, especially in the summers with all the festivals and music events. We have friends that live there too.

Glad to hear there is a group there. Once we get settled I'll be in touch.
Thanks
Ann
