Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am planning an Epiphany party for my Atrium class this weekend. I think we have almost every allergy in this class......eggs, dairy, gluten, nuts

Can you suggest any foods that would work for me, right now all I have on the list is grapes and carrots.........

If there are no corn allergies (or toddlers) attending, popcorn is a good snack.

I'd also ask the parents involved. I have a few friends with kids who have allergies and I have just asked for help from them! They usually have snacks to suggest, or even offer to bring them!

If you're not looking for homemade, check out a health food or specialty-type store. We have a local store that has great signage regarding their gluten / egg / dairy free products (including mixes).

But, a veggie / fruit tray is always a great snack idea!   And you might not need anything else?

Fruits, veggies, juice ...plain fritos I believe are gluten free? (double check that one! and also are egg/nut/dairy free). Cocoa Pebbles and Fruity Pebbles were gluten free several years ago - I don't know if they still are (I'm sure someone here can weigh in) and if you can get safe margarine and safe marshmallows (again, need to check ingredients) you can make a rice krispie type treat.

Oh, and for the peace of mind of the parents there, I would bring all the ingredients lists of all the things you put in the foods you serve . That way they can check for themselves. I am always so thankful when a teacher/parent does that.

Don't forget about cross contamination - like if you have put a knife containing peanut butter in your jelly, then the whole jelly jar is "contaminated" and possibly not safe for a peanut allergic child. Things like that.
