Does anyone have these from Amazon:
Montessori Shapes
I have been wanting the metal insets for quite a while and these seem affordable. However, if the quality of these is not good, I'll wait and save for the real thing. Just wondering what your thoughts are. It is hard to tell from the picture.
Thanks!
Becky

I don't have these, but I did want to point out that Montessori Outlet has the genuine metal insets for approx the same price here.
And did you notice the $9.04 shipping from Amazon? I'm not sure how much it would be from MO, but you might see if it will end up being less.

Thanks Theresa! I didn't check the shipping at Amazon. That's where I always spend more than I wanted to!

I have a very similar set from ebay! Was a much better price.
So glad that I took the plunge and bought these! They do not fit tight but stills works great for inset activities!

Just wanted to add that the insets have been one of the most impressive materials we bought - I bought them to remediate handwriting here they worked and without any frustration over "yet another handwriting book." You won't be disappointed in them Becky!

Thanks Ladies! I've been wanting to buy these for about 4 years but I always feel like they are too expensive. I need them for handwriting remediation for one child and then I want to follow the basic steps to hopefully avoid remediation for the preschooler. Any other hints or suggestions you care to offer other than where to buy them?
Thanks!!

Becky,
I bought them to remediate handwriting as well and have been very, very pleased with the results! Other hints? It is worthwhile to purchase the pre-cut paper. You can get it from Montessori Services or Montessori Outlet. I bought the variety of colors available from Montessori Services and have been so pleased that I did! My 11yo uses a different color for her drawing/sketching lessons, and the 2 younger boys enjoy using the small pieces of paper with their Beeswax crayons and color pencils. Something about the small size of the paper that everyone loves. It was more expensive from Mont. Svc. but I thought I'd throw that tidbit out since I didn't expect the colors and size of the paper to be such a huge hit!
Also, I have a 7yo who has a real desire and need for order, so I bought the tracing tray as well. I'm glad I did as it keeps all of the insets in their place. If things had shifted while he was doing his work it would have resulted in much frustration for him! It also has a nice space at the top for holding the color pencils in place so they don't roll off the table. HTH!

Yes, the tray and the paper are a big hit here, too. My kids like to gather up their drawings and have me staple them into little books. The paper is perfect for that.
