Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Okay, so I got my Mac Laptop quite awhile ago now. And I know it can do all these neat things - because I have heard other people talk about it! But, besides email & internet surfing....I am not using this thing to its full potential.

What fun things do you do with your mac? I heard Elizabeth mention calendars, I have heard others mention picture stuff....

Yes, someone reply please. I also am in desperate need of software. On my Dell, I had Quicken and Word Perfect (and photo software) but I'm not sure what to buy for my Mac.
I didn't know about the calendar thing until Elizabeth mentioned it.

I would love to know, too, because I am not liking my Macbook very much. Except for the notebook feature on Word for Mac, which I like a lot. But iPhoto doesn't support my camera and the mouse drives me insane. (This is what I get for buying a computer online without test-driving it first, I guess.)

How do you do the calendar thing?

I've only had my Mac for about two weeks. I have not figured out how to do all the cool stuff either.

I want to get Mac For Dummies. I have this one MacBook for Dummies, but I think it is to complicated for me .
I have played with my pictures some and like that, but I have not figured out how to make the books and such. And I have not have any of the pictures I cropped and played around with printed yet.

If you have an Apple store near you, you can go in and take a class. I might do that. In our overpriced area it is $100.00 for an hour. I hope they can cram alot into an hour.

I did a google search for a recipe organizer for Macs and found one and downloaded it, it is freeware. It is not perfect but it will do the trick of getting all the recipes I print off the computer into one place.

The only software I purchased is the Word for Macs. My dh also bought me a mouse so I can use that instead of the touchpad.

I'm hoping for calendar lessons tomorrow, I'll let you know what I learn.

This is hilarious. I don't have a Mac. Katherine and I spent hours and hours playing with Google Calendar. And it was really cool. But we were frustrated with the print version. Than, one day, she shot me a PDF file of my schedule as an iCalendar. She'd done it using iLife software on her Mac. I posted it here..
I've been wanting a Mac ever since.Sigh.
