Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have twin dd and I am trying to decide what to give them for Christmas this year. They both want Barbie dolls of there favorite movie stars

They have expressed great interest in a doll house ie previous topic.
My question is...

Do I totally buy seperate gifts for them or group them together?

They are always playing together and will even ask for gifts together. For example one will ask for the characters and the other will ask for accessories so they may play together.

At this point the doll house may be out totally since my sister loaned us her old FisherPrice dollhouse and they are happy with it.

I am not against the barbie dolls per se. however my mother refused to let me play with barbies. I played with the sunshine family and their babies making leather craft. And they wonder why I hs now!

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

I think I would get them something or other that's personal to them.. They'd be old enough for maybe a simple piece of jewelry? do they have a saint's medal? and get them some play stuff that goes together.

Even without twins.. I've been known to have packages for "the kids" but then have enough the each has one to open.. that's fun with craft supplies.. so one opens markers and one opens chalk and one opens construction paper and one opens notebooks etc.

And I've also gotten them gifts that go together.. so everyone got a laundry basket full of wood blocks one year.. big bow on top and of course now all the blocks live together not seperated out into "ownership"..

I've also gotten all the girls the same dollie before.. with special dresses (made from fleece so no hems and simple seams) in their favorite colors (so also individual)

I think as long as THEY are happy getting matching gifts that it's a fun thing to do.. if they're less than enthusiastic.. then it's time to rethink it.

How many gifts will they be getting in general might be something to consider. Bill and I only give the kids one gift each and they get one from someone on my side of the family, and if that were all, I might try harder to be sure they each got something different. However, and their other grandparents make up for all of our restraint.

I think if the boys both wanted the same thing (often the case along the lines of LEGOS), and it were a big thing, I would be fine with giving it to both of them. Usually if they get money, they will pool it to buy something more expensive anyway.
