Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Roz,

Get either worsted weight, chunky or bulky. (4, 5 and 6 are the numbers). Make sure the yarn is smooth -- altho the "novelty" yarn is pretty and looks fun, it is a NIGHTMARE for beginner (and sometimes, experienced ) knitters use as it's so hard to count.

The needles should be size 8 to 11 -- much smaller is kind of hard on the hands and much larger is like knitting with broomsticks!
