My fil is waiting on a hip replacement and is in increasingly bad shape. Originally his surgery was scheduled for 12/11 but has now been moved back 5-6 weeks because his surgeon has to have surgery, and Andy's dad doesn't want another surgeon to do it. He has had joint problems for 20 years (at least) and will need both hips and both knees replaced over a span of several years. Now he is barely walking with a cane and has been unable even to get to work sometimes. He smokes heavily and undoubtedly, that affects everything.

Andy is very worried about him and feels badly that we're so far away and can't be of more help. Would you please keep his dad in your prayers over the next month? (And his mother, as she is caring for him and the house?) Your generosity has worked wonders in the past, and I know that your prayers will make a difference for my fil. (His name is Bob.) I should also mention that I am not sure he has much faith to fall back on. He isn't Catholic, but he also rejected most organized religion long ago. (I hesitate to add that because I am not sure if mentioning it would offend him, but he is in a really difficult place and I think he really needs grace and faith.)
