Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

First - thank you to everyone who participated! The ornaments are wonderful and I know we'll all enjoy using them for years to come. I had so much fun opening the packages to find what everyone had made.

Second - a big THANK YOU to Mary Chris who traveled up to DC to help me pack and ship the boxes. Our children had so much fun together!

Third - due to a miscommunication, 2 sets of sheep were made, one by Leann (Sew Crazy) and one by Anne. In order to be fair, I used half of each set and distributed them randomly.

Fourth - that meant that no one made the angels, so I made them, too. I was in a bit of a hurry and some of their wings didn't want to stick. Their wings are white organza bows. A little glue will do the trick if yours falls off.

Fifth - if you are a neighbor of Mary Chris, she has your ornaments. Feel free to hunt her down for them.

Sixth - enough talking already! If you'd like to see the ornaments they are all here:

Amazing!! I am so grateful.

For the last five years, I have gotten half way through making Jesse tree ornaments (just paper), don't finish, end up losing them, and then start ALL OVER again the next year.

I already have a wooden box to save these for posterity!!

Thank you Lorri!

They are truly amazing. Thanks for posting all the pics, Lorri. I am a bystander to all this since we already had a set, but I have so enjoyed watching it coming together - and since Mary G. will get a set I'll get to see it in person. All you who participated are quite talented and creative! So many will enjoy the benefits of your work.

She is a very generous soul, that's for sure. Thanks to both of you.

Looking over the ornaments I realized that I totally misunderstood what I was supposed to do. The word "bronze" never sunk in. What I read was "serpent and stick" and thought all along that I was supposed to do the snake and apple. For some reason I didn't notice that someone else was doing it. So, so sorry. I am so embarrassed.    Maybe everyone can paint their snake bronze and ignore the apple...

Christina, the serpent and stick is beautiful -- don't be embarrassed! My kids and I helped so some of the coats are well, um, a bit neater than others...

I'm so anxious to see the whole kit-n-kaboodle!

Thanks to all -- especially Lorri for organizing, Mary Chris for going to help, and all the families that worked so hard to get the ornaments done!!!!!

I've been creating in my head exactly the "right" holder for these cherished Jesse Tree ornaments ... and had some time at Hobby Lobby today (thanks to MARY M! ) and now I have a few ideas of things to do, but will wait till the ornaments arrive to determine size and scale.

Can't wait to post to "show off" our community Jesse Tree swap! THANKS again to all.....

By the way, be sure to read Lorri's other posts on Jesse Trees:

The Jesse Tree (Part 1)

Jesse Tree Craft Swap (Part 2)

And part three I believe is the picture of the finished product that Lorri posted above!!

My children and I are in love with all the ornanments! I am so excited about this project, it is one I never would have undertaken on my own.

It was so nice to meet Lorri, it is such a small world we found out we attended the same Catholic School in CA but at different times (I'm a few years older ).

Thanks to all that made this swap possible!

I had to smile when you blogged about wondering what to do for Jesse Tree ornaments. I'm glad the Good Lord kept you busy so you'd have to keep putting it off. Enjoy!

Oh, one more thing I wanted to add. The glass globe was made by the dd's of a Catholic homeschooling dad here on base. He's here with his 3 girls while he attends school, and his wife and son are in Michigan because she's active duty, too.

The ornaments were beautiful, but it was clear they didn't factor in that I needed mail all the packages except theirs and mine. I was thisclose to just leaving them out because I couldn't come up with boxes that were big enough to fit the globes. But Mary Chris brought boxes and took home 5 of the sets and we were able to make it work.

Elizabeth,

So glad we're able to make you cry tears of sheer joy! It's VERY cathartic for us all occasionally.

And as others have said, we wanted to make sure you KNOW just how much you mean to many of us! Blessings for a fabulous Jesse Tree celebration!

Lorri and all, I'm so excited to hear that the ornaments are on their way! We've also wanted to do a Jesse Tree for years but I could never get my act together in time to do it.

I also want to apologize that my ornaments aren't as finished as I'd hoped... I had the Mary ornaments. I wanted to do a final sanding and coat of polyeurethane (sp?) but there just wasn't time. I let the deadline slip up on me with a few other projects pending that weekend for church, too. So please forgive my rough ornaments and you may want to give them a clear coat of something.

Elizabeth, I'm so glad Lorri thought to surprise you with a set of ornaments. How fun!

JoAnna
