I am not sure where to post this, but I was wondering if anyone has any experience of or knowledge of parish groups for young adults the over 18s. Our parish youth group caters for the under 18s and many feel theee is a need for something post this. Any ideas or suggestions?

The Frassati Society is awesome. It isn't necessarily associated with parishes but it can be. In our area it is more associated as a diocese-wide program.

In our diocese at a nearby parish (in Australian terms  ) they have a young adults group. It is for the over 18s. The group is booming, they met for the Sunday night Mass and then pizza with the Father's. The priest of this parish is a lovely 'young' (for out diocese where young is 50) priest, he would be in his 40s I believe. A quiet priest but sincere and devout.
This parish has a large amount of young people attending, many teenagers and young adults, which is to be commended in our diocese. In one parish Mass where we attend occasionally my children are often the only children in the church 
I'll ask Lynn to pop over and tell you what they do in detail as her 'young adults' have attended. I know they will be having a big group going to World Youth Day.

Cool, thanks, Erin. Our youth group is great and the leaders ( my 18 yo is a leader) are all 18-25. And they do a lot of volunteer work in the parish. But we recently held a parish survey ( my idea! lol!  ) and many people said they see a need for a group for the older young adults - I am sure once it gets started the young adults themselves will run with it and take over. Its just the getting started bit. 
So, thats why I am here asking for ideas!
I look forward to hearing from Lynn, and from others...

As Erin said our parish has a young adults group for those over 18. It's not a huge group but it's good to see these young people taking time out for their faith each week.
They meet Sunday nights after 6pm Mass which is a "youth" Mass the young people provide the music, do the readings, offertory and so on. My children don't go often as we live 45mins from town and it's not always practical.
They have a meal something ordered in I think like pizza. Activities include things like watching DVD's such as Therese, Karol and the like, talks and teachings on faith issues, sometimes I think they just hangout together for a meal and a chat.Our parish priest often invites seminarians into the parish and when that happens they alway meet with them.
For the most part I believe these nights are informal and really lead by the young people themselves.

Leonie -- way back when I was a young thing , the young adults group (had to change it's name from "singles group" as so many of us met and married!) did three types of activities -- liturgical/scriptural (Bible study, Mass times together), service (soup kitchen, helping with the youth, etc), and social (volleyball, softball). One of the parish priests oversaw what we were doing, but because we were all adults, we were pretty much self-running.
The one thing we all REALLY liked about this group was that you could do as much or as little as you wanted from one, two or all three groups -- and noone gave you a hard time about never going to the Bible study or not playing volleyball. It was up to each to find his/her niche. It really was one of the best youth groups I've ever seen/been involved with.

In our parish, we have both a "20s group" and a "30s group", although the 20s group is open to people ages 18-33, single or married. Both groups primarily meet for faith enrichment, studying the Bible, Catechism, and attending weekly adoration together. They also have social events.
Like the group Mary mentioned, there is a chaplain associated with the group, who just happens to be one of our youngest priests. He takes care of just about all the "young people" functions, including the pre-sacramental "talks" for First Communion and Confirmation.
