Hi ladies, it's been awhile since I have posted. I am in shock right now. I found out on Friday at my annual doctor appt. that I am PREGNANT...AND HAD NO IDEA!!!! I am about 10 1/2 weeks! We thought we were done, but I guess not. Here is the problem...my family thinks you just shouldn't have more than 3 kids these days. I am scared to tell them!!!! I don't know why I'm scared.I am a 33 year old adult, living very comfortably.BUT, they will see it differently I'm sure. Please pray that all goes well when my husband and I tell everyone at Thanksgiving dinner!
Thanks ladies!
God Bless,
Angela

Angela:
So excited for you and Congratulations!!!!
Instead of telling them at Thanksgiving dinner, what about calling them and making a happy announcement beforehand. It kind of gives them a chance to get used to the idea before you have to face each other. Also you are telling people one at a time without feeling ganged up on. You can even intentionally call particular friends in between to make sure you are getting positive reactions in the midst of the negatives you might experience. Pray. We'll pray that all goes well.
I know one way to avoid any initial negative reactions is to let the children tell over the phone (only, of course, if you are certain that folks will not show negative reactions to your children - sometimes adults will be careful with children even when they will say things to you that hurt). Then when you get on the phone (together with your dh) don't give much chance at first but simply gush with excitement and joy. It really, really helps when dh expresses how delighted he is as well. For some reason, that generally settles the matter. Doing it on the phone is a courteous way to allow them to get control of their own feelings so that they can then hash out their own issues privately without you having to hear or see.

Congratulations, Angela! I will pray it all goes well when you tell your family. We finally stopped telling ours after too many hurtful comments. They usually figure it out once they see me.

Congratualtions, Angela!
Janet gave good advice if you think your family may react negatively during Thanksgiving dinner...in front of your other children.
You have my prayers.

Congratulations!! I understand about telling family, and you are certainly in my prayers! We got negative reactions to kids 2-4 from my parents and grandmother, who all somehow had a miraculous recover for our last baby and actually seemed happy for us. Praying for the same for you! (I mean with this baby, not hoping you have to wait until #5 for a good reaction, LOL!)

Congratulations!
I'm an old hand at those negative comments.
Now I just pray to the Holy Spirit and all the family's guardian angels to smooth the way before we break the news, and that has made a BIG difference (my own mother was one of the worst).
Praying all goes well for you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.

Congratulations and praying for your family and your little babe. What wonderful news! Negative comments won't stop the beauty of what God in His wonderful awesomeness has in store for your family.
I always think it is just as exciting to welcome the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. baby as it is to welcome the first baby:)
Blessings,
