And I'm dittoing her request -- I'm desperate. I don't wear skirts exclusively, but I do wear them!! I forgot that winter pregnancies mean suffocating yourself in stockings!! UGH!!! Summer pregnancies are so much easier.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a very pregnant woman who'd like to look nice over the next few months instead of just wearning pants all the time!?!?! Stockings that don't involve pain?!? 
I've tried regular pregnancy stockings that I've found in Motherhood, and they are okay but they get a run so quickly that I can't keep them in stock. Not with four little boys that like to manhandle mama. And at that price, I'd rather find tights that will last, etc... if they exist.
Please help!

There are cotton/spandex leggings with an adjustable waist... just put normal socks on your ankles. This works at least with a long skirt.
It has been a while... I don't know where you'd get them--But surely they exist!

I found that some silk long johns in several sizes bigger than my normal size.. work through pregnancy.. and between those and knee high socks and boots I stay pretty warm... what about some capri knit pants? I know those are made for maternity.. then knee high socks and a skirt that covers the pants?

Maryan,
Motherhood carries these leggings that work well under longer skirts/dresses. I wear trouser socks pulled up to meet the leggings. Comfy and warm.

I'm short (almost 5 3) so I don't know if my suggestion will help you, but I've been using Just My Size tights in size 2x. They have been the most comfortable tights I've ever worn. (I'm seven months along.)
I almost asked the same question a month ago! But, I saw these tights at the supermarket and gave them a try.

Not so far.
The legs seem much more roomier than my usual tights without becoming saggy. It could be the pregnancy belly helping to keep them up.

This is a really great idea Helen. I already do the tights you mention from motherhood with the socks meeting them mid-calf. I am headed out tomorrow and I'm going to find the Just My Size tights you mentioned! What a great life saver before the real winter sets in. Thanks so much!!!
