Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have a friend with severe nausea and vomiting who is entering her 2nd trimester. Has anyone tried those anti-nausea wristbands? Did you have any success with them?

Thank You,

Elizabeth

they can help.. be sure she uses her own fingers for measuring..

For me they make my head feel "odd".. not really dizzy but that sort of feeling.. so mostly I don't use them but they did help with nausea in the car.. might even use them again here coming up.. depends.. I'm a bit prone to car sickness anyway and in first trimester and having a 6 hr drive in just over a week.. ugh.. it's worth the trade off of feeling a bit off.. at least for the time in the car.

Sometimes they help to various degrees.
I've found mine worth a try.
Worst case is she won't be any worse off.
For me, I have to be really high maintence to get even teeny relief. But once I'm that bad off, teeny relief feels like a God send.

I have severe nausea/vomiting for my entire pgs.

The wrist bands help a little. The wrist bands with the electrical pulses help a teeny bit more.

Have your friend look into this:

MorningWell

They helped a little more, and as was mentioned, you get to a point where ANY relief is a blessing.

But, in all honesty, I have needed medication to keep me out of the hospital and hydrated every time.

They helped me some too. Gingersnap cookies as a appetizer for ever meal during one pregnancy kept me out of the hospital. With my first pg I think I survived on Mentos.

Have the severe nausea to varying degrees throughout pregnancy - it is extreme for the first 4-5 months. I tried the wrist bands 2 pregnancies ago - desperate for some relief. They didn't work. Perhaps if her nausea isn't too severe they might provide some relief, but if it is SEVERE, in my experience, they didn't work. I tried the pressure bands and the ones that emitted electrical pulses.

Sadly, the only thing that worked was medication. Good news though - as of this pregnancy, Zofran comes in an orally dissolving tablet so you don't have to gag to swallow a pill. That was a big help!
