Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I cannot get this baby on my back!! The best we've done so far is a superman pose over my left shoulder with her squaking from irritation that the process is taking so long    ! It doesn't help that the whole family is "spotting" her and we are laughing like hyenas . My husband keeps saying just put her in front, but I want her on the BACK! We are standing in front of the wearyourbaby.com website reading the instructions--Lisbet, how long did it take you to get this down?? She'll be a teenager at the rate I'm going!! Any suggestions? How about any other holds for a 3 month old when she's awake? Any input from you expert baby-wearers would be appreciated!!

No advice but I'm because that is exactly the scene that is taking place here with my 5 week old.

Joelle, I had to giggle too!    I can't recall how long it took me to figure out how to get baby on my back initally, but I have put each one since up so early (just days old) that they are so used to it now. I have a rather un-orthodox way of popping a baby up there, always makes folks gasp! I hold baby with one hand between the legs and one on the chest and put him up high over my shoulder, then I grasp him under each arm and position him where he needs to be. I like to have one arm over each of my shoulders to ensure he is nice and high.

Have you tried the 'hip scoot' method?   Put her on your hip and scoot her over and up on your back? I showed a friend how to back-carry the other day and this method seemed to work for her.

I have a hard time with spotters, they make me more nervous than anything!

I WILL do a photo tutorial TONIGHT!!

Oh, no pressure, our back-wearing career only hangs in the balance !! Really, I think we're close--I now can get her on the back, but crossing the wrap close to her bum is hard as she is so high up. AND she's a huge spitter, so that just adds a whole new exciting dimension to the process! We'll keep working on it!! Your great article & photos on the "Moby" thread keep us inspired!

Since the last thread started by Dawnie, I've been wearing my 7 m/o on my back!    It has been such a blessing...baby is content and I've got my hands free.If onlyI could get him to stop trying to snatch me bald while he's back there!    My dd was trying to "spot" for me too---now she knows to let me be while I get him set-up.
I was really having a hard time gettin him up back there. This video showed an easy way to get him up. Maybe that will help?
I'd like to try some other ttypes of carry, but I'm happy with even the basic one!
Thanks, ladies for inspiring me!
