Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

When I worked at the school, a book I loved to read was about a family waking up one winter morning thinking "something has happened" - the mum made muffins, the dad got ready for work, the baby played, the big sibling gets ready for school - and when they open the door, it is snowing and the dog runs out and plays in the snow. The illustrations looked sort of scandinavian. I have searched and searched, but can find nothing under any title I try.

Any ideas?

It always delighted the children, time after time, when the door is opened and there is the snow, and it was such a safe, cosy, comforting read with a happy family.
